Apple’s new iPhone 13 lineup includes the iPhone 13 Pro Max and iPhone 13 Pro Max. It also features the iPhone 13 Mini and iPhone 13 Pro. The iPhone 13 Pro Max and iPhone 13 Pro Max have improved display technology and battery life. The phones look similar to the iPhone 12 models and include Apple’s MagSafe. However, their designs are different enough that they require new cases. If you upgrade, your iPhone 12 or 12 Pro case can no longer be used. Every new phone has its own case. Make sure you get the right iphone 13 case for your iPhone 13 model.
Speck Cases
Speck brought many of its iPhone 12 cases to the iPhone 13. These include the Presidio Perfect-Clear, Perfect-Clear With Grips and the Presidio2 Pro (the one in pink). Speck’s grip cover with MagSafe built-in cost $10 more. MagSafe cases are my favorite because you can attach an accessory to your case directly, and not to your phone.
All new models offer drop protection of 13 to 16 feet depending on their model, as well as Speck Microban antimicrobial protection. No matter what model you choose, Speck offers a discount to first-time buyers.
Cyrill Cases
Cyrill, a sister brand of Spigen, has a slightly more elegant case than Spigen’s. However, they are quite a bit more expensive. The Leather Brick case is pictured in cream (it’s faux leather), but we also recommend the $17 Silicone and $17 Cecile transparent cases. The Silicone Case is basically an imitation of Apple’s Silicone without the MagSafe feature.
Spigen Ultra Hybrid Mag
MagSafe cases can be quite expensive, but if you are looking for an affordable MagSafe case for your iPhone 13, the Spigen Ultra Hybrid Mag is worth around $20. Spigen also offers a non-Mag version for $5 less, and many other iPhone 13 cases. Spigen Mag Armor was also available, but I found the accessories to be more compatible with the Ultra Hybrid Mag.
Spigen transparent cases offer decent protection, although there is no drop rating. Spigen Tough Armor is a tough case that offers more protection for $17. However, I prefer Spigen’s Ultra Hybrid case (the Ultra Hybrid S has an integrated kickstand).
Moft case, stand and wallet set
This MagSafe case and MagSafe wallet can be converted into a stand. This case/stand combo can hold up to three credit cards.
OtterBox Symmetry Series Plus
OtterBox is a household name with its Defender series of super-protective cases, but many people are looking for something lighter these days. Symmetry is slim and has beveled edges. It’s both stylish and protective. The raised bumper acts as a screen protector.
There are many color options, including clear. I love the Symmetry Plus Clear MagSafe (pictured in middle in red). On the left is the Symmetry Plus Pop Case. It integrates a PopSockets PopGrip. The Symmetry Series Plus pink case is also available in other colors. There’s also a MagSafe version that costs $10 more. OtterBox offers a 10% discount to first-time buyers.
Snakehive Metro Leather
Snakehive’s Metro Leather iPhone 13 case is eye-catching and features a nice grip as well as an integrated kickstand. You can also use it with any MagSafe accessory. Although it seems very protective, I would prefer the corners to be raised so that the screen is protected in case of a fall. It’s still a very nice case and comes in four colors.
